She's matches Craig David's tally from two years ago...

Ms Dynamite leads the running for this year’s MOBO Awards with six nominations.

The new star of UK garage is up for Best R’n’B Act, UK Act of the Year, Best Newcomer, Best Single and Best Video for ‘It Takes More’, and Best Album for ‘A Little Deeper’.

Ms Dynamite, real name Niomi McLean-Daley, matches the record set by Craig David who also received six nominations two years ago.

For UK Act of the Year she is in the running alongside Mis-Teeq, Daniel Bedingfield, Beverley Knight, So Solid Crew and Sugababes.

So Solid Crew, Bedingfield and Mis-Teeq also feature in the nominees for Best Garage Act, along with Heartless Crew and More Fire Crew.

There will be stiff competition for Dynamite in Best Video as she knocks heads with Eminem for ‘Without Me’, Busta Rhymes for ‘Pass The Courvoisier’, Ja Rule with ‘Always On Time’ and the late Aaliyah for ‘More Than A Woman’.

Meanwhile The Streets are up for two gongs, both of which pitch them against Dynamite – Best Newcomer and Best Album for Original Pirate Material.

The ceremony will be held at the London Arena on October 1. It will be hosted by Mis-Teeq’s Alesha Dixon and rap veteran LL Cool J.
