Marcus Mumford and Justin Timberlake record together for new Coen Brothers soundtrack

The Mumford and Sons frontman and Timberlake have teamed up for 'Inside Llewyn Davis'

Mumford and Sons frontman Marcus Mumford has been recording with Justin Timberlake for the soundtrack of the new Coen Brothers movie, Inside Llewyn Davis.

The film, which stars Timberlake and Mumford’s real life wife, Carey Mulligan, focuses on a fictional musician trying to make it in 1960s New York.

Speaking to Capital FM, via MTV News, Timberlake revealed news of the collaboration. He said:

…I did work with Marcus Mumford on the soundtrack… Marcus and myself, we all kind of worked on the music together and I don’t know any other world where we would have the opportunity to collaborate like that but it was so much fun.

Timberlake added: “So not only will that be a great movie, but the music to it will be fantastic.”

Carey Mulligan plays the female lead opposite Oscar Isaac in the movie, which does not yet have an official release date. However, the film is expected to hit cinemas at some point in 2013.

Also appearing in the film are John Goodman, F. Murray Abraham, Adam Driver and Garrett Hedlund. Scroll down to watch a trailer for the movie.
