Band lead latest line-up additions alongside Royal Blood, Bastille and Catfish & The Bottlemen
Organisers today (February 2) confirmed that the band will make their UK live return on the Reading and Leeds Main Stage, their first time headlining the festival. Mumford & Sons’ appearance is their first high profile UK gig announcement since they played their Gentlemen Of The Road series of shows in summer 2013.
They join Metallica on the list of headliners this year. A third headliner will be announced in due course.
Also new on the bill this year are Royal Blood, Bastille, Deadmau5 and Catfish & The Bottlemen. Bastille last appeared at Reading and Leeds Festival on the NME/Radio 1 Stage in 2013 while Royal Blood played on the same stage in 2014.
In addition, Wolf Alice, Years & Years, Hannah Wants, Jack Garratt and Pretty Vicious are also new to the bill as of today, as too are Rebel Sound, the new project from Chase & Status + Rage, David Rodigan and Shy FX.
Talking about their performance Wolf Alice said: “WE’RE PLAYING READING AND LEEDS! We had one of the best times of our lives last year so we are honoured to be back again.”
The Reading and Leeds Festivals 2014 were headlined by Arctic Monkeys, Blink-182, Paramore and Queens Of The Stone Age.
Last year Oasis topped a poll of which bands NME readers would like to headline Reading & Leeds next year – despite the fact that the band are not presently together.
