The band will headline Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee alongside Billy Joel and Kendrick Lamar in June
Mumford and Sons are set to make their live comeback at Bonnaroo festival in the US this summer.
The band will headline the event – which takes place in Manchester, Tennessee from June 11-14 – alongside Billy Joel and Kendrick Lamar. The British folk band’s last show was in September 2013, when the band finished up a US tour. However, members of the band did make a special appearance at Glastonbury Festival in 2014, playing alongside Haim in the intimate Avalon Cafe.
Mumford & Sons were booked to play Bonaroo in 2013, but had to pull out at the last minute while bassist Ted Dwane recovered from emergency brain surgery. Other artists set to appear at Bonnaroo this year include Florence & The Machine, Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters, Slayer, Belle And Sebastian, Alabama Shakes, Tears For Fears, Run the Jewels, The War on Drugs, Flying Lotus, Caribou, SBTRKT, Courtney Barnett and Royal Blood.
In October last year it was revealed that Mumford And Sons were in the studio with Arctic Monkeys and Haim producer James Ford. A source close to the band commented of the sessions: “It’s very early days yet, but the sessions have been going well”. The band released their last album ‘Babel’ in 2012.
