Shura denies reports that Mumford & Sons will cameo during Glastonbury set

Singer plays the Other Stage at the Worthy Farm festival on Saturday (June 25)

Shura has responded to reports suggesting that Mumford and Sons may appear during her set at Glastonbury Festival this weekend.

The British singer plays the Other Stage at the Worthy Farm festival on Saturday (June 25). Tabloid reports had quoted her as saying that she’d “love” the band to perform live with her.

Shura recently supported the band on tour. Mumford & Sons also covered Shura’s song ‘2Shy’ for their BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge.

“I’d love to get them on stage with me,” she was quoted as saying. Shura also revealed that the band had contacted her before their Live Lounge performance: “They actually messaged me in advance in case of any mess-ups in the recording. It was really sweet!”

Following reports that the band might appear with her at Glastonbury, Shura tweeted: “When newspapers invent things…” See that tweet beneath.

Shura releases her debut album ‘Nothing’s Real’ on July 8.

Last December, Shura revealed that she gave up playing for Manchester City women’s team to pursue a music career, after being listed in the BBC Sound Of 2015 poll earlier this year, alongside breakthrough acts such as James Bay and Years & Years.
