Mumford and Sons are reportedly keen to start making their own whiskey.

The band, who recently headlined Glastonbury and have also set up their own record label confirmed the plans for move into distilling their own alcohol with keyboard player Ben Lovett telling The Sun: “It’ll happen. It takes a few years to make, so we better cracking.”

Lovett also confirmed that the band will take the rest of 2013 off before starting work on their third album in 2014. “We’re incredibly excited. Our third album can be anything we want it to be.”

Marcus Mumford recently revealed that he and the band have still not watched any footage of their Glastonbury headline performance last month (June 30). “I’ll watch it one day,” the frontman told NME. “It’s one of those life events that feels like it’ll take 20 years to process.”

Meanwhile, Alice Cooper has claimed that branding Mumford & Sons a rock band would be an “offence to rock ‘n’ roll”. The shock-rock singer said that modern musicians were “afraid to be in a rock band” and claimed that the current generation need to “quit eating vegetarian food” and “eat a steak” instead.
