Muse’s ‘Drones’ on course to become one of the fastest selling albums of the year so far

Band set for fifth Number One with latest album outselling rest of the top five combined

Muse look set to go straight to Number One in the Official UK Album Chart with their new album ‘Drones’ leading the sales figures in today’s (June 10) midweek update.

According to Official Chart Company data, ‘Drones’ is outselling the rest of the top five combined and looks sure to become Muse’s fifth Number One album. If its sales momentum continues into the weekend the album will become one of the fastest selling albums of the year so far.

Also new in the Top 10 at today’s midweek point is Leftfield’s ‘Alternative Light Source’. The album is the first Leftfield release in 16 years and is new at Number Three today.

Other new entries in this week’s Official Album Chart at today’s midweek stage include Of Monsters and Men (4), The Rolling Stones’ reissue of their 1971 album ‘Sticky Fingers’ (6) and FFS, a joint album from Franz Ferdinand and Sparks, which is new at Number Seven. Also new at today’s midweek stage are Young Guns (11) and Tremonti (16).

Meanwhile, in the Official UK Singles Chart, Jason Derulo is set for his third week at Number One with his single ‘Want To Want Me’.

Walk The Moon are on course for this week’s highest new entry with ‘Shut Up & Dance’, which enters the Top 40 at Number Five following its full download release. The indie pop band’s track is proving a success across the globe, having already charted in the Top Ten in America, Australia and Canada.
