Warning over fake passes for Radio 1’s Big Weekend

Ticket touts are selling counterfeits

A warning has been issued over fake backstage passes being sold on the internet for Radio 1‘s Big Weekend.

Muse, Keane, Razorlight and Dirty Pretty Things are all set to take to the stage this weekend at the Dundee event, but bids for the counterfeit passes have exceeded the £7,000 mark on online auction site eBay.

Genuine tickets for the free gig are also being offered for over £100.

Police have already warned those without tickets for the concert to stay away, while organisers for the Big Weekend have expressed their disappointment.

The radio station invalidated the backstage passes when the problem emerged and the ticket tout was ordered to remove them from sale.

Around 30,000 people are expected to attend the Big Weekend concert at Dundee’s Camperdown Park over the weekend (May 13-14), and tickets were allocated through a draw system.
