Frontman Matt Bellamy's blue barnet - and a new song - make their live debut in London...

MUSE filmed an exclusive performance for CHANNEL 4 at LONDON CAMDEN MONARCH last night (August 1) in front of an invited audience and competition winners.

The gig will be part of the forthcoming Barfly Sessions, a series which will also feature performances by Coldplay, Babybird and Badly Drawn Boy.

Muse played seven songs, including an encore of new song ‘Plug In Baby’, which is expected to be included on the band’s next album. The set comprised: ‘Sunburn’, ‘Muscle Museum’, ‘Unintended’, ‘Agitated’, ‘Cave’, ‘Showbiz’ and ‘Plug In Baby’.

Introducing forthcoming single, the re-released ‘Muscle Museum’, which is out on October 2, singer Matt Bellamy – sporting a new electric blue hair colour – joked: “This is the 100th single off our album.”

Originally released last November, it will in fact be the sixth release from their debut album ‘Showbiz’, following up their highest-charting single to date, ‘Unintended’ which reached Number 20.

The band, who have been performing at festivals around the world this summer, can be seen at: Carling Weekend Reading, headline Second Stage (August 25) Dublin Slane Castle (26) Lowlands Festival Holland (27) Carling Weekend Leeds, headline Second Stage (28)

They are not expected to go into the studio to start work on the follow-up to ‘Showbiz’ until the end of the year.

‘The Barfly Sessions’ will begin on Channel 4 on August 23 at 12.45am, presented by T4‘s Dermot O’Leary. More bands will be filmed around the country in September for the series, and limited tickets will be available from Click here.
