Muse perform new single ‘Mercy’ live at Radio 1’s Big Weekend – watch

Matt Bellamy and co headlined the BBC event on Saturday (May 23)

Muse performed new single ‘Mercy’ at Radio 1’s Big Weekend on Saturday (May 23).

The BBC event, which was held at Norwich’s Earlham Park, was the band’s first outdoor show of the summer. Dressed all in black, the trio played the ‘Drones’ lead cut along with new songs ‘Reapers’ and ‘Psycho’. Watch footage below.

Matt Bellamy told the crowd at the show that it was “Good to be back in England,” before adding, “You guys have been great”. Drummer Dom Howard addressed the crowd before leaving the stage, saying “Thank you Norwich, it’s been way too long”.

Muse release their new album ‘Drones’ on June 5, following on from 2012’s ‘The 2nd Law’. Matt Bellamy recently claimed that ‘Drones’ is Muse’s best album, admitting, “That’s not something I’ve been able to say for a while.”
