Muse play ‘Muscle Museum’ for first time in eight years at Exeter gig – watch

Early single has not featured in band's live show since 2007

Muse performed ‘Muscle Museum’ for the first time since 2007 during a gig in Exeter last night (March 20). Watch fan shot footage of the moment now.

The band continued their current tour of intimate UK venues with a show at Exeter’s Great Hall on Friday evening and slipped the song, first revealed on 1999’s ‘Showbiz’ album into the set alongside two new songs (‘Psycho’ and ‘Reapers’).


Other songs in the set for Exeter included B-Sides ‘Agitated’ and ‘Futurism’ plus fan favourites such as ‘Plug In Baby’, ‘Stockholm Syndrome’, ‘Time Is Running Out’ and ‘Knights of Cydonia’.

Muse grew up and formed in nearby Teignmouth, Devon and posted a picture on Instagram before the gig marking their return to their home county.

Earlier this week frontman Matt Bellamy took time out of a gig in Glasgow to dedicate a song to the people who voted ‘Yes’ in Scotland’s referendum last year.

Muse’s seventh studio album ‘Drones’ is due for release on June 8. The album’s first official single, ‘Dead Inside’, will premiere on March 23. The 12-track LP will be released on June 8 and is the follow up to 2012’s ‘The 2nd Law’.
