Muse unveil new ‘Halloween Special’ song and video ‘New Kind Of Kick’

It's a crotch-grabbing, leather-loving spectacular to cover The Cramps

Muse have unveiled their brand new ‘Halloween Special’ track and video for ‘New Kind Of Kick’ – a cover of The Cramps. Check it out below.

The band started teasing fans with news of a ‘Halloween Special’ earlier this week, before stills of a new video appeared across their social networks. After yet more teasing, they dropped the track and video today.

It shows the band clad in 1950s rocker leather with slicked back hair, performing in front of horror screen icon Elvira as frontman Matt Bellamy grabs his crotch and struts before some gorey lyric display. The track itself takes Muse into new territory for them, channelling the spirit of Iggy And The Stooges at their most menacing 1970s peak to take on The Cramps’ classic.

This marks the band’s first new material since they released ‘Drones’ in 2015 and completed a world arena and stadium tour – which saw them not only headline Glastonbury but play a run of arenas and stadiums with an adventurous stage show that saw them perform ‘in the round’.

The band’s live director has recently revealed that the band’s plans for their next world tour involve them ‘levitating on magnets‘.

Meanwhile, frontman Matt Bellamy recently teased that the band could play a more intimate club tour – in which their setlist is comprised of requests made by fans. There is currently an ongoing petition made by fans to convince Muse to do it – which you can sign here.
