My Bloody Valentine to record two new albums

Kevin Shields returns to the studio 17 years after the release of 'Loveless'

My Bloody Valentine‘s Kevin Shields has confirmed that the band are set to record two new albums.

After playing a headline set at ATP New York on September 21, Shields said that he wants to restart work on songs written for the band’s aborted third album.

The last LP the group released was ‘Loveless’ in November 1991.

“I realised that all that stuff I was doing in 1996 and 1997 was a lot better than I thought,” he told The New York Times.

Shields now plans to finish that record, before starting work on another completely new album this autumn.

Shields added that the band have spent £200,000 on equipment for their current tour.

My Bloody Valentine played their first gig in 16 years in London in June this year.
