My Chemical Romance kicked off their world tour in Stockholm last night (November 8).
The Emo rockers tore through a host of new tracks from their latest album ‘The Black Parade’ including the likes ‘Mama’, ‘I Don’t Love You’, ‘This Is How To Disappear’, ‘Cancer’ plus recent UK Number One single ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’.
Many fans braved freezing cold temperatures outside the 3,500 capacity Arenan venue for up two days just to be first in line to see the gig.
During the chaotic set, singer Gerard Way praised the crowd and urged them to never use violence.
“You are about the best crowd we have ever played to,” he declared. “We are all here because we are different. Don’t let anybody make you change, because you are all much cleverer and far better looking. But most importantly, don’t ever resort to violence.”
Speaking about the gig Gerard told NME.COM: “It’s been great being over here. There’s more girls than normal. Yesterday we did a signing and there were so many people it took us four-and-a-half hours to get everything done.”
After the show, two lucky NME.COM winners, who were flown out especially for the gig, got a chance to meet their heroes.
The gig provided a perfect warm-up for their forthcoming UK tour which kicks off this weekend.
The band will play:
Bournemouth International Centre (November 11)
London Brixton Academy (12)
Liverpool University (13)
Glasgow Barrowlands (14)
Nottingham Rock City (15)
