My Morning Jacket cancel European tour

Band were due to play three UK dates as part of jaunt

My Morning Jacket have cancelled their entire European tour.

In a statement, the band say that the extent of singer Jim James‘ injuries, sustained when he fell offstage earlier this month, are such that the November gigs will now not happen.

“We would like to extend our gratitude for your support and understanding. Our hope was to merely postpone the tour, but as our scheduling does not allow that to happen in the immediate future, we feel it is best to cancel this tour in hopes of rescheduling at some point.

“We would also like to say ‘thank you’ to all the fans who have reached out to Jim with their well-wishes as we all hope for his speedy and full recovery,” they said.

The affected dates are as follows:

Brussels Cirque Royal (November 1)

Amsterdam Paradiso (2)

Copenhagen Small Vega (4)

Oslo Sentrum Scene (5)

Stockholm Berns (6)

Lund Mejeret (7)

Berlin Lido (9)

Frankfurt Batschkapp (10)

London Brixton Academy (12)

Manchester University (13)

Glasgow ABC (14)
