N-Dubz’s Tulisa Contostavlos confirmed for the ‘X Factor’

There's to be no return for Cheryl Cole as ITV announces new look juding panel

N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos has been confirmed as the last addition to the judging panel for the new series of the X Factor.

ITV have confirmed this afternoon (May 30) that the 22 year-old has agreed to join Take That maestro Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland on the reality show’s new look judging panel.

Contostavlos‘s arrival puts an end to rumours that Cheryl Cole would return to the X Factor. There had been speculation that the Girls Aloud singer would retake her place on the judging panel after she was removed from the US version of the show on Thursday (May 26), but this possibility has now been extinguished.

The N-Dubz singer’s arrival means that Louis Walsh will be the only judge to remain from the line-up that oversaw the show’s seventh series, after both Dannii Minogue and Simon Cowell confirmed earlier this year that they would not be taking part in the new run.

In a statement released today, Cowell said of the new look panel: “These four are totally up for it, each of them brings a different attitude.”

Auditions for the eighth series of the show are set to begin in the next few days.
