Dappy’s tour bus ‘raided’ by Scottish police in drugs bust

Reports say incident took place before N-Dubz star's recent Glasgow gig

N-Dubz star Dappy‘s tour bus was raided in Glasgow at the weekend, with police reportedly finding illegal substances.

According to tabloid reports, Dappy was preparing to play the city’s Classic Grand venue on Sunday (February 25) when Scottish police received a drugs tip-off.

After a search of the vehicle and cannabis was found, one of Dappy’s entourage is said to have been handed a caution.

Police Scotland said in a statement: “On Sunday, February 25, 2018, police responded to a report of an illegal substance onboard a bus in Jamaica Street in Glasgow.”

“Officers attended and a quantity of herbal cannabis was recovered and a 33 year-old man as given a recorded police warning.”

However, a spokesperson for Dappy has downplayed the incident, saying: “We were stopped for a routine check. Nothing actually happened and we got let back on the bus.”

Last year saw Dappy handed a suspended jail sentence for being armed with a knife during a row with his partner. He is said to have “wept” in court.

In May 2017, the member of the late-2000s pop-rap group was arrested on suspicion of hitting a woman with a tennis racket and making threats with a knife.

Then in June, Dappy pleaded guilty to knife possession but not guilty to common assault. Accepting the latter plea, Luton Crowd Court sentenced the star to nine months in jail, suspended for two years.
