*NSYNC member JOEY FATONE was forced to miss the group’s show at SAN ANTONIO in TEXAS on Sunday (August 5) after falling ill with a minor case of pneumonia.
The group performed as a four-piece at the city’s Almodome, and his bandmates phoned him from the stage at the gig to wish him well and let fans shout greetings to him.
Joey was hospitalized on Saturday, according to mtv.com. The pneumonia developed from a bout of bronchitis.
His tour spokesperson said he was released yesterday afternoon (August 6) and they are due to continue the tour, with Fatone expected to rejoin the lineup, in Birmingham, Alabama tonight (August 7).
*NSYNC‘s tour also fell prey to of Tropical Storm Barry in Florida last week, with their show in Miami last Thursday (August 2) being postponed because of the storm’s impending arrival.
As reported on NME.COM last week, their new album ‘Celebrity’ went straight to Number One in the US, becoming the second-fastest selling album of all time in the first-week sales stakes, behind their previous release ‘No Strings Attached’.
