Could an N-Sync reunion take place at the Super Bowl?

Justin Timberlake will perform a halftime show at the event next month

With Justin Timberlake due to perform at the Super Bowl’s halftime show next month, rumours have circulated as to whether his former boyband N-Sync could reunite at the event.

JT and his bandmates went their separate ways in 2002. Though they announced their split as a “temporary hiatus” at the time, they haven’t recorded together since. Five years later, Lance Bass confirmed they had “definitely broken up”.

The group did however join Timberlake on stage during his MTV VMA performance in 2013.

Now, ahead of the ‘Man In The Woods’ popstar’s Super Bowl appearance, former band member Joey Fatone has debunked rumours of a potential reunion.

“I’m here right now,” he told TMZ. “If I was doing something, I’d be at rehearsals right now. So, obviously, there’s your proof.”

He continued: “There’s nothing wrong with that. Shit, he’s doing his thing.”

When asked whether Timberlake could bring out Janet Jackson in reference to the infamous 2004 collaboration, Fatone said: “He’s not that kind of person. He’s not controversial like that.”

“He is in a sense,” he added, “but not in a sense to do it deliberately.”

Elsewhere, JT recently discussed the iconic collaboration with Janet Jackson at the event 14 years ago.

Meanwhile, gearing towards the release of his new LP, Timberlake shared the video to new single ‘Supplies’. The clip follows the singer as he watches footage of anti-Trump protests and Harvey Weinstein, before stepping outside to save Baby Driver actress Eiza González Reyna from a group of cult-like men.

Timberlake previously shared the single ‘Filthy’. ‘Man Of The Woods’ is out February 2.
