Metal band court controversy on SE Asian visit...

Napalm Death, who release their new mini album on October 25, a collection of covers of metal and punk covers, have courted controversey by lining up live shows in Vietnam.

“We’ll make a great effort to explain why we’re called Napalm Death. It’s very much an anti war statement,” singer Barney told metal mag Kerrang!.

Thousands of Vietnamese adults and children were maimed and killed by napalm bombs dropped by the American forces during the war there in the 60s and 70s.

Vietnam has opened up as a stop-off for western bands on far eastern tours; Suede were slated to play there recently but were forced to cancel when visas and work permits couldn’t be sorted out in time.
