Back in April, Kelis accused Nas of hitting her during their relationship, alleging that he would often be “blackout drunk”.
“It was really dark. Like, you know, there was a lot of drinking,” she told The Hollywood Unlocked. “There was a lot of, just, mental and physical abuse. And it just got to the point where, I think—for me, you know—God is so good because being pregnant, I think that I probably would have stayed longer had I not been pregnant.
Comparing their relationship to that of Rihanna and Chris Brown following his charges for assault, she added: “I had bruises all over my body at that time. Seeing her, the way she looked, and then looking at myself, I was embarrassed. I was appalled.”
Now Nas, real name Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones, has issued a lengthy seven-part response via his Instagram – denying her claims while also accusing her of physical assault, during an incident witnessed by their son. He also claimed that “all of our assistants all signed NDA’s or you would have a list of men and women who would happily talk about how verbally abusive and evil you are”.
“This is the first and last time I’m addressing this,” he wrote.“Today i got a call from essence about my ex wife doing another sad fictitious story. This is what your life has come to sis? Exploiting some people’s Real struggle and pain…just to get at me….to get attention? Fame? Another fight against men?
“We are a human family and we should be better examples for our son. “This is the type of antics that deceive people and people mistakenly call it strong.”
He continued: “Everything with her is a plot and a scheme. Has no merit. No foundation,” he wrote in part six of the seven-part statement. “I didn’t wanna speak up because i have real respect for our women. And definitely my son. I do not beat women. I did not beat up my ex wife. Stop. You got beat up in court.”
“It was my weekend and you denied me that because your parents were in town,” he wrote. “I just went home. This has been my life for my son’s entire life. Even our son wonders why you treat me the way you do?”
Levelling accusations of assault against his ex-wife, he added: “It was my weekend and you denied me that because your parents were in town,” he wrote. “I just went home. This has been my life for my son’s entire life. Even our son wonders why you treat me the way you do?”
Kelis is yet to respond to Nas’ latest allegations.
