Four NEIL YOUNG albums are to be made available on CD for the first time next month.
‘On the Beach’ (1974), ‘American Stars n’ Bars’ (1977), ‘Hawks And Doves’ (1980) and ‘Re.ac.tor’ (1981) will be issued on CD on June 24 for the first time in the US. The albums have been out of print domestically since their LP pressings went out of circulation, Rolling Stone reports.
Fans of the singer have called for these albums to be issued on CD for some time, especially ‘On The Beach’, a big favourite with devotees.
There is as yet still no word as to when Young will issue his classic 1973 live set ‘Time Fades Away’ on CD. Neil Young fans on the Internet have long referred to this set, ‘On The Beach’ and ‘American Stars n’ Bars’ as the “missing three” and have campaigned for their release for years.
Neil Young is currently on a solo acoustic tour of Europe, and has reportedly recorded another album of electric material with his regular backing band Crazy Horse, with whom he will tour the US in the summer, kicking off in West Palm Beach, Florida on June 8.
