Neil Young and Blur confirmed for Glastonbury

Acts will join Bruce Springsteen as headliners

Neil Young and Blur been confirmed to play headline slots this year’s Glastonbury festival.

They join Bruce Springsteen, who had previously been revealed as one of the headliners.

Festival organiser Michael Eavis revealed that he was overjoyed at Young’s decision to play the festival. “Neil Young to play this year is a dream come true for me personally,” he told BBC Newsbeat.

Speaking in reaction to recent comments made by Blur’s Damon Albarn about playing Glastonbury 2009, Emily Eavis told that Blur “will definitely headline this year’s festival”.

The Somerset bash will be Blur‘s first Glastonbury appearance since 1998, when they also headlined the Pyramid Stage. “We’re absolutely over the moon to have them back,” Emily Eavis said.

Doves, Emiliana Torrini, Lily Allen and Florence And The Machine have also all been confirmed to appear at the festival.
