Neon Neon arrive at gig in ‘Back To The Future’ DeLorean car

Gruff Rhys and Boom Bip arrive in 'Stainless Style'

Neon Neon – aka Boom Bip and Super Furry AnimalsGruff Rhys – played a gig at London‘s Cargo last night (July 6), arriving to the gig in a DeLorean car.

The vehicle – the same model used in the ‘Back To The Future’ films – was designed by John DeLorean.

Neon Neon‘s debut album, ‘Stainless Style’, is a concept album about the life and times of the playboy engineer.

After arriving in the spectacular car, which had fans clamouring around for photographs, the band played a selection of songs from the album.

Har Mar Superstar joined the band for ‘Trick For Treat’, while the band played in front of a projected backdrop featuring scenes derived from the songs’ lyrics, including snapshots of Michael Douglas and Raquel Welch’, subject matter of fourth song ‘Raquel’.

Neon Neon played an encore featuring ‘Steel Your Girl’ and an extended percussion-led version oft he album’s title track, which Boom Bip mashed into a techno dance beat to end the set.
