Gruff Rhys' 80s-style side project get a helping hand
The band features the main songwriting duo of Rhys, who played here with the Furries last year and actually headlined this stage with his main band in 2003, and American solo artist and producer Boom Bip.
The group also included Cate Le Bon on various instruments and Har Mar, who provided vocals for ‘Trick For Treat’, which he sang upside down throughout the whole song, and ‘Sweat Shop’.
Other songs the group showcased from their new album ‘Stainless Style’ included the singles ‘I Lust U’, ‘Raquel’ and ‘I Told Her on Alderaan’.
Rhys, who sat in a chair when singing most of his vocals, told the crowd two songs in: “If anyone wants to go and see James Blunt, now’s your time to leave”, referring to the singer-songwriter’s set on the Pyramid Stage this afternoon.
Neon Neon played:
‘I Told Her On Alderaan’
‘I Lust U’
‘Trick For Treat’
