The duo released their first new material in five years last November
These New Puritans have announced their new album ‘Inside The Rose’ and unveiled its title track – along with UK tour dates for this spring. Check out the song’s video, LP tracklist, and the band’s schedule below.
The Southend-On-Sea duo, whose last full-length ‘Field Of Reeds‘ was released in 2013, unveiled the first new material in five years back in November with ‘Into The Fire’. NME described the song as “yet another left turn” for the band, adding: “This is the sound of two musicians following their own path, unconcerned with which Spotify playlist they wind up gracing.”
Now, brothers Jack and George Barnett have confirmed that their fourth album ‘Inside The Rose’ will be released on March 22. The long-awaited LP was recorded in Berlin, London and Southend-on-Sea, and mixed in LA.
Offering another taste of what to expect from the new release, the band have shared its glitchy, atmospheric title track – which is accompanied by a dramatic short film by Harley Weir.
As well as ‘Inside The Rose’ and ‘Into The Fire’, the new record includes tracks called ‘Infinity Vibraphones’, ‘Beyond Black Suns’, ‘Where The Trees Are On Fire’, and ‘Six’.
“The songs are about beauty, transcendence, desire, oblivion, ecstasy and eyes,” Jack Barnett said of the project.
A press release describes the upcoming release as “a record unlike anything else you’ll hear this year – 40 minutes of powerful melodies, lush strings and progressive electronics, packed with jaw-dropping sonic left turn.”
The tracklist for ‘Inside The Rose’ is as follows:
1. Infinity Vibraphones
3. Beyond Black Suns
4. Inside The Rose
5. Where The Trees Are On Fire
6. Into The Fire
7. Lost Angel
