IT’S AN EMO-TIONAL EVENING!

It's a moshpit frenzy at the group's first ever UK date...

Nickelback performed their first ever UK date at last night’s (February 11) NME CARLING SHOW at the LONDON ASTORIA.

The Canadian rockers celebrated their ‘Silver Side Up’ album achieving Gold status in the UK, with the performance that featured a full supporting bill including rising EMO group Rival Schools, Backyard Babies and The Parkinsons.

From the stage, frontman Chad Kroeger took the opportunity to announce the group’s summer single is likely to be titled ‘Too Bad’, and thanked the crowd for their enthusiasm.

He said: “I’d like to thank each and every one of you for making our first time here so fucking cool!”

Despite the relative intimacy of the venue for the group, who have sold millions of records in North America, Nickelback treated the performance like a stadium show. They brought with them two metallic podiums which they erected at the side of the stage so bassist Mike Kroeger and guitarist Ryan Peake could play to the crowd fully.

They played: ‘Woke Up This Morning’

‘One Last’

‘Too Bad’

‘Breathe’
