Nicki Minaj to voice part in new ‘Ice Age’ movie

She joins labelmate Drake and Jennifer Lopez in the cast

Nicki Minaj is set to star in the latest film in the Ice Age series of animated movies.

The rapper will voice a role in the forthcoming Ice Age: Continental Drift film, which is set for release next summer. The film will be the fourth in the 20th Century Fox series.

Minaj will join fellow musicians Jennifer Lopez and Drake in the cast, reports BBC Newsbeat.

This won’t be the ‘Pink Friday’ star’s only animated appearance, as she’s also been confirmed for a cameo role in the third series of Cleveland, the cartoon spin-off from Family Guy.

Ice Age: Continental Drift is released in the UK on July 6 2012.

Last month Minaj was fined for performing an ‘expletive-laced’ gig peppered with ‘sexually suggestive dance moves’ in Jamaica.

The rapper appeared at this year’s Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay on July 23 – and was charged with obscenity by local police shortly afterwards, reports the Jamaica Observer.

Minaj, who was not in court, paid a thousand Jamaican dollar fine after a guilty plea was entered on her behalf by attorney Hugh Thompson.

Speaking about the gig on her Twitter page, Twitter.com/Nickiminaj, the following morning, Minaj appeared unaware of the stir her ‘saucy’ show had caused, commenting:

I had the time of my life at Reggae Sumfest… Jamaica I fell in love tonight.
