Nicki Minaj has hailed her own Madame Tussauds waxwork after the new statue was unveiled in Las Vegas on Tuesday (August 4).
The figure is the first waxwork made of the artist and shows Minaj in a pose from her ‘Anaconda’ music video. At the launch on Tuesday, Madame Tussauds recruited several backing dancers to flank the statue.
“Had no idea they were really doing this,” the star said on Instagram upon hearing the news. “They had the dancers ready and everything… so iconic. Thank u,” she continued.

The singer’s ‘Anaconda’ video previously broke Vevo’s record for most views within the first 24 hours of release. The video received 19.6 million hits in the day following its release. It has since been watched 495 million times.
Nicki Minaj recently accepted Taylor Swift’s apology after the pair engaged in a public dispute about the MTV VMA nominations and Minaj’s claims about inherent racism in the music industry.
Minaj appeared to take exception to, among other things, a lack of acknowledgement for the ‘Anaconda’ video by MTV.
