Song is third single off rappers forthcoming album
‘Only’ is the third single off the new album, which is officially out December 15 via Young Money/Cash Money. The video for the song sees Minaj play a dominatrix who tortures her male victims in an underground sex dungeon.
Previously, the lyric video to ‘Only’ sparked widespread condemnation due it its controversial use of Nazi imagery. Though director Jeffrey Osborne refused to apologise for the video’s content, Minaj took “full responsibility” for any offence caused. “Both the producer and person in charge of overseeing the lyric video (one of my best friends and videographer: A. Loucas), happen to be Jewish,” the singer wrote on Twitter. “I didn’t come up with the concept, but I’m very sorry and take full responsibility if it has offended anyone. I’d never condone Nazism in my art.”
Yesterday, Nicki Minaj’s new collaborations with Jessie Ware and Beyoncé were also revealed online. Earlier this week the rapper announced an upcoming UK and Ireland arena tour, which will include dates in London, Nottingham, Newcastle and Glasgow.
‘The Pinkprint’ is following on from 2010’s ‘Pink Friday’ and 2012’s ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’.
