One of the greatest jazz and soul singers of all time, NINA SIMONE, has died.
Simone, famous for the hit ‘My Baby Just Cares For Me’, died yesterday at her home in southern France, aged 70.
Her manager, Clifton Henderson, told the Reuters news agency that the singer, who had been in France for a number of years prior to her death, had been ill for some time.

Born in North Caroline, Simone changed her name from Eunice Waymon.
A musical child, she started to make a name for herself in the late ‘50s and in a legendary career that lasted until her death, Simone was also closely associated with the black civil rights movement.
She is survived by a daughter
