At their first show of 2018
Nine Inch Nails covered David Bowie’s ‘I’m Afraid of Americans’ at their first show of 2018.
Ahead of their ‘Cold and Black and Infinite’ tour later this year, the band played The Joint in Las Vegas on Wednesday (June 13).
Their set consisted of 19 songs which included a cover of David Bowie’s ‘I’m Afraid of Americans’. Frontman Trent Reznor contributed to Bowie’s original version back i 1997.
See the performance below.
Nine Inch Nails also covered Gary Numan’s ‘Metal’ – a song they’ve covered in the past but haven’t performed in over nine years.
They also included a live debut of their single ‘God Break Down the Door’ from new EP ‘Bad Witch’. Watch that below.

‘Bad Witch’ is the third installment in a trilogy of EP releases from the band. It follows on from 2016’s ‘Not The Actual Events’ and 2017’s ‘Add Violence’ and will be arriving on June 22.
Reznor has been referring to this upcoming release as an LP rather than an EP. Replying to a fan on a forum, Reznor wrote: ““Want to know why it’s being labelled an LP instead of an EP? EPs show up with singles in Spotify and other streaming services = they get lost easier. EPs feel less important in today’s music-isn’t-as-important-as-it-once-was world. Why make it easier to ignore? We’re not charging any more for it so why get worked up about it? Quantum550: suck my entire cock.”
The tracklist for ‘Bad Witch’ is below:
1 ‘Shit Mirror’
2 ‘Ahead of Ourselves’
3 ‘Play the Goddamned Part’
