Nine Inch Nails release live video of ‘Metal’ featuring Gary Numan

Taken from a performance at The Joint in Las Vegas

Nine Inch Nails have shared a live video of  their cover of ‘Metal’ and it features a surprise appearance Gary Numan.

The performance was recorded at the band’s show at The Joint in Las Vegas where they also treated fans to the Trent Reznor/David Bowie single ‘I’m Afraid of Americans’ as well as Joy Division’s ‘Digital’.

Nine in Nails originally covered Numan’s track ‘Metal’ for their 2000 remix LP ‘Things Falling Apart’. Watch the man himself join the band for the performance in the new video below.

Nine Inch Nails released their latest album ‘Bad Witch‘ last month (June 22). In a five-star review, NME said: ” Free from the shackles of Reznor’s self-imposed trilogy of releases, the masters of melancholy sound rejuvenated, and ready for another 30-plus years as kings of the musical underworld.”

Meanwhile, Trent Reznor has hit out at Kanye West and The Weeknd after claiming that the artists have ‘ripped off’ Nine Inch Nails‘ live shows.

Reznor speaks of “screens and experimental production techniques,” adding, “I remember us watching a string of bands on Coachella from the comfort of our couch. And every band has a video playing behind them. And every band is synced up with a convenient, polite lighting package, you know?”

Speaking with Lauren Laverne on BBC Radio 6 Music, he continued: “And I saw Kanye West blatantly rip off–and the Weeknd rip off– our tours production-wise, which I’ll say without any hesitation. And they know.”
