The Hole frontwoman Tweets Simon Cowell with a 'perfect idea'
Love tweeted show producer Simon Cowell and seemed to suggest that contestant Janet Devlin could sing one of her late husband Kurt Cobain’s songs on the talent show. The Hole frontwoman wrote: “@SimonCowell you want some Nirvana songs? @JanetJealousy is from same town as Kurt? I have the perfect idea for that, call me babe.”
Digitalspy.co.uk reports that Cobain‘s ancestors are from the village of Inishative in Northern Ireland which is near to Gortin, where Janet Devlin is from.
Love has owned the rights to Nirvana’s back catalogue since the 1994 death of Cobain. The Sun reports that show bosses are shocked by Love’s offer, considering how hard it is to clear the rights to iconic tracks for use on the programme.
The singer spotted the picture and told the crowd member that their behaviour was “stupid and rude” and that they didn’t have to live with Cobain’s “ghost and kid” every day.
