NME.COM readers have unanimously voted ‘Heart-Shaped Box’ as their favourite Nirvana song of all time.

The track, which features on the band’s 1993 ‘In Utero’ LP and was also a Top Five hit in the UK in the same year, received over 50% of the votes in the poll, which was commissioned to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the release of the rock giants’ seminal ‘Nevermind’ album.

‘Nevermind’s ‘Lithium’ was a clear runner-up, with the band’s classic breakthrough hit ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ surprisingly lagging behind in sixth place.
