HBO’s forthcoming Kurt Cobain documentary will be accompanied by a book delving further into the material from the film.
The book, which shares it’s Montage Of Heck name with the Brett Morgen-directed documentary, will be released at the same time as the film. A press release promises that the book will feature exclusive interviews featured in the film plus a mixture of animation stills, rare photography, and other images from Cobain’s personal archive. Director Morgen will also contribute to the book.
Montage Of Heck will be broadcast for the first time in April, arriving in UK cinemas around the same time. It was recently revealed that the film will feature original and unheard music from the Nirvana frontman.
Montage Of Heck is named after one of Cobain’s mixtapes, which was circulated widely online in 2014. It features clips of songs by The Beatles, Iron Maiden, The Monkees, Black Sabbath, The Jackson Five and many more.
Cobain’s daughter Frances Bean Cobain (pictured right) is acting as executive producer on the project.
Earlier today (January 14) it was reported that online retailers have stopped selling merchandise with Kurt Cobain’s suicide letter printed on them following an online campaign by fans of the band.
