Courtney Love has said she thinks it’s “time to make amends” with Dave Grohl.
The pair seemingly put aside their differences earlier this year at Nirvana’s induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in April. Love and Grohl hugged at one point, a public thawing of a relationship which has been markedly frosty in the two decades since Cobain’s death. Before embracing the drummer, Love said: “You know, I have a big speech, but I’m not going to say it. This is my family.” Afterwards she continued, “I just wish Kurt was here to do this.”
Love later added: “I just wish Kurt could have been here. Tonight he would have really appreciated it. I just want to give this to our daughter Frances Bean, who couldn’t be here because she was ill.” After the ceremony, the Hole singer tweeted to say that she thinks Kurt Cobain would have been happy she and Grohl had buried the hatchet.
During her talk at Cannes Lions 2014, an awards show for the creative communications industry, Love also said that she was considering making a return to acting. “I passed on a lot of stuff, I didn’t have really good guidance and now I’m going to be 50 and I love rock n roll and I love playing rock n roll but I want to go back to acting,” she commented. “You have to be so bloody proactive to get a great agent.”
