Kid Cudi warns fans of the dangers of smoking

Rapper speaks out after bout of bronchitis caused him to quit

Kid Cudi is urging his fans to quit smoking and take more care of their health after his own nicotine habit left him fighting for his life.

The ‘Day ’N’ Nite’ hitmaker, who began smoking in his late teens, kicked his addiction earlier this year after falling ill.

“I got bronchitis and it was a really bad situation,” Cudi told HipHollywood.com. “My temperature went to 105 [degrees Fahrenheit]. I was literally on my death bed. I was like, ‘Hey, I’m gonna stop smoking.'”

The hip-hop star also revealed he’s looking to team up with anti-smoking charities to alert others to the health dangers after learning from his own personal experiences.

“I’m trying to get involved with some charities, build some cancer awareness,” the rapper said. “I definitely wanna set something up ‘cos every person that’s died in my family, 99.9 per cent of them died from cancer, or some form of cancer,” he explained.
