The pair played it as part of a SiriusXMU live session
The stripped down cover comes after the Anglo-American duo released their new album, ‘Ash & Ice’, last week (June 3). It was produced by guitarist Jamie Hince and co-produced by John O’Mahony, who has previously worked with The Cribs.
Hince’s bandmate Alison Mosshart spoke about the album in a recent press release in which she said, “One of the first songs that [Jamie] brought for the record was called ‘Ash and Ice’, and we loved the title. He does that all the time – he just starts with the title and he hasn’t written a word for the actual song.
“I guess he was sitting at some bar or some party or someone’s house, and it was just like people ashing into a glass of ice, in that disgusting thing that you just see all the time.”
In an interview with the Lena Dunham newsletter Lenny Letter earlier this week, Mosshart also opened up about her surprising route into music, revealing she got into the career through skateboarding. That was after the duo revealed extensive touring plans for later this year. You can see the UK dates below.
