The Sheffiled singer duets with frontman Guy Garvey on the song ‘The Fix’, which features on the band?s fourth LP ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’, out on March 17.
?Richard and I met properly when we did this gig together over in Nashville for a well known brand of whiskey and we became firm friends,? the singer told NME.COM. ?Then last year we went to the races together and I had the idea that we should do a song together for the album.?
The track finds the pair singing together, almost in the style of a couple of gentlemen villains from a ?Jeeves And Wooster? story.
?I wrote this song, ?The Fix? which sounds a bit like something Cole Porter might have done,? explained Garvey. ?We sort of play two crooks in it really. I think Richard was surprised initially when he came by the studio but it worked really well, I think.
?Initially we wanted to try to keep it a secret so fans who brought the album in the first week would be surprised, but I guess that?s difficult in this day and age.?
