Calvin Harris hospitalised after L.A. car accident

Harris reportedly suffered a laceration on his face

Calvin Harris was involved in a car accident last night (May 20), which saw the 32-year-old DJ and producer briefly hospitalised due to a laceration on his face.

Harris, real name Adam Wiles, was being driven to a Los Angeles airport when the car he was travelling in was hit by another vehicle, TMZ reports. An unnamed passenger in the other car is said to have suffered a broken pelvis.

A statement posted on Harris’ Facebook page earlier today (Saturday), read, “Adam’s transport was involved in a collision this evening on the way to the airport. As a result, he will be unable to perform at Omnia tonight. He has been examined by doctors and told to rest for a few days.” You can see the full post below.

Harris was due to perform at Omnia nightclub at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas last night, before his planned headline slot at Hangout Festival in Alabama tonight. It is still unclear whether he will make his scheduled festival appearance.

Harris debuted his Rihanna collaboration, ‘This Is What You Came For’, on BBC Radio 1 in April, shortly after she joined him on stage as he closed this year’s Coachella. In July he is also set to headline T In The Park with Red Hot Chili Peppers and Wireless Festival with Chase & Status and Skepta’s Boy Better Know.
