Nick Carter pleads guilty to the charge in California…

BACKSTREET BOYS’ NICK CARTER has been fined $1,200 (£664) after admitting to drink driving in CALIFORNIA.

The star has also been put on probation for three years, ordered to attend an alcohol education course and has been banned from driving for 90 days.

Carter was on prescribed medication when he was arrested on March 5, his spokesman said.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges in April, but later changed his plea.

According to BBC News, Tate McCallister – Orange County district attorney – said that Carter’s lawyer entered a standard first-time guilty plea on the singer’s behalf last week.

When he was arrested in Huntington Beach, the Backstreet Boy’s blood alcohol level was above the legal limit.

Carter said that he had been unaware of the “interaction possibilities” of his medication and alcohol.

Backstreet Boys are set to kick off a US tour on July 22 in Florida.
