XFM competition winners are raising money for the Band Aid Trust…

OUTL4W – a pre-teen rock band from LYTHAM ST ANNES are attempting to raise funds for charity after winning a competition on LONDON radio station XFM.

The band, whose youngest member is 11 years old, won the station’s two month long search to find a summer anthem from a previously unknown band.

Their song, ’Summer of Rock ‘n’ Roll’ was released on Monday (August 1), with the proceeds going to the Band Aid Trust.

Station presenter Christian O’Connell said: “The kids won it! We had over five hundred summer songs and this was just so good it just leapt out at us. It rocked more than any of the others and I love the idea in the song of not being arsed to do anything like work on a hot day. There’s a bit about drinking though that isn’t too smart coming from kids, maybe they meant Lemon Barley water. Forget that crappy frog thing; the country needs some real rock music right now that hasn’t been made on a computer by some spods. The Kids Are Alright.”

The band consist of brothers Jack, Will and Bobby Bentham, who are aged between 11 and 14.
