Franz Ferdinand's favourites are also set to release a new live and rarities album…

FIRE ENGINES have announced details of two live shows for September.

The dates will coincide with the release of ’Codex Teenage Premonition’ on September 26 – a compilation of previously unreleased live recordings and studio outtakes from 1980-81.

The original line-up of singer Davy Henderson, guitarist Murray Slade, bass player Graham Main and drummer Russell Burn will play Glasgow on September 11, followed by their first London show for nearly 25 years on September 17.

There are no plans to tour further, and these dates are likely to be the last the Edinburgh group will play.

ProForma, Cash Machine and Say Jansfield will support in London.

The dates are:

Glasgow Optimo (September 11)

London ICA (17)

Forming in Edinburgh in 1979, the band released two albums (‘Lubricate Your Living Room’ and ’Aufgeladen Und Bereit Fur Action’) during their 18-month career.

Fire Engines reformed last year to support The Magic Band and supported Franz Ferdinand for their homecoming December shows.

The two bands recently appeared on a limited two track 7” which featured Franz Ferdinand covering Fire Engines’ ’Get Up And Use Me’ and Fire Engines taking on Franz Ferdinand’ ’Jacqueline’.
