Apple Music launches student membership deal for just £4.99 per month

Students will need to have their status verified, mind you

Apple Music is set to launch a special low-cost membership package for students.

Available to anyone enrolled at an eligible university, the deal will give members a 50 per cent discount on Apple Music for up to four years. This means students in the UK will pay £4.99 per month to access the service, with the cost set at €4.99 a month in Ireland.

For those students who already have an account with Apple Music, changing over to a student membership is relatively easy both in the Music app or on iTunes on a computer. According to Apple, the system will apparently be able to automatically confirm whether applicants really do have student status using UNiDAYS – a student verification technology provider.

The Apple Music Student Membership programme launched today, and is available in the UK, Ireland, US, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark and Germany.
