US SHUTS DOWN IN WAKE OF TERRORIST ATTACKS

MTV and VH-1 suspend broadcasts...

The LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS, due to take place (September 11) later tonight in LOS ANGELES FORUM, have been cancelled in the wake of the terrorist strikes on NEW YORK and WASHINGTON.

NME.COM has also just learned that Madonna’s live shows on the US leg of her world tour have been suspended indefinitely. It is believed countless others have also been cancelled. All internal flights within the US have been grounded.

And for what is understood to be the first time in their history, both MTV and VH-1 have suspended broadcast of music videos in the US. NME.COM understands that a news feed is being beamed in their place. No further information is available at present.
