GLASTONBURY’s second day has begun, and already the stars are arriving on the site.
Today (June 29), bands set to play include Stereophonics, Orbital, The Charlatans, The White Stripes and The Vines. Early risers have found the weather to be cloudier than yesterday. However, the threat of rain remains only that.
Starsailor and Haven are milling around backstage, as is Spiritualized mainman Jason Pierce, who following his gig on the Other Stage last night, is relaxing on the grass, reading the newspaper and enjoying a morning cuppa!
Organisers have announced, that despite rumours of an appearance by PJ Harvey or the Red Hot Chili Peppers, no band will fill the slot vacated by the Super Furry Animals tomorrow afternoon on the Pyramid Stage. Instead, fans will have the opportunity to see part of the World Cup Final between Brazil and Germany.
In other festival news, following the Aphex Twin’s unannounced appearance last night, Warp Records labelmates Squarepusher will play an unannounced live set on one of the smaller stages this evening.
As yesterday, NME.COM will be providing news and reviews throughout the day, so click back for regular Glastonbury updates.
