RADIO 1 have confirmed details of the ‘replacement’ bill to be broadcast in place of the cancelled LOVE PARADE in NEWCASTLE.
As announced on NME.COM, the parade, due to take place on July 21, was pulled after the local council failed to meet safety requirements surrounding the events.
To compensate for the cancellation, the station will be broadcasting from various nightclubs throughout the city.
Highlights include DJ sets from Pete Tong and Danny Rampling from ‘Sea’, Grooverider live from ‘Scotland Yard’ and a four hour broadcast from the town’s Telewest Arena featuring DJ sets from Seb Fontaine, Darren Emersonand Sasha amongst others.

Last night (July 16), Radio 1 contoller Andy Parfitt took part in a webchat with fans upset at the cancellation of the event.
Advising fans to stay away from Newcastle if they didn’t have a ticket for the previously arranged indoor club nights, he maintained that the problems this year did not spell an end to the Love Parade in the UK.
He said:” I think the event is viable… At the moment, we are not thinking past next weekend, but there’s no reason for us to think there isn’t a future for Love Parade in the UK.”
