SISQO has donated $50,000 to an Californian church to “give back” to the community where he grew up.
The rap star made a pledge with his manager Kenneth Crear to donate a large sum of money to the pastor of Crear’s local church just before they set up their own Dragon Records label.
Now, following the success of Sisqo’s solo album, ‘Enter The Dragon’ and the Top Five single ‘Thong Song’, the Zion Methodist Church in Las Vegas was presented with a cheque for $50,000.
Sisqo’s generosity follows earlier charitable endeavours by Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs, who gave several computers to a New York school, and singer Mary J Blige ,who, in collaboration with cosmetics company MAC, put her name to a lipstick whose sales went to AIDS research.
Sisqo is currently in the studio with Dru Hill – the pair are working on the follow-up to 1998’s worldwide smash ‘Enter The Dru’. Sisqo releases his third single, ‘Incomplete’, from his solo album next month (December).
