Chris Evans landed his employers, Virgin Radio, with a #10,000 fine yesterday for a broadcast that amounted to abuse of the airwaves.
The fine was levied by the Radio Authority after investigating complaints made against Evans following the arrest of Liam Gallagher in November last year when he smashed a freelance photographer’s camera.
Evans had given out the photographer Mel Bouziad‘s mobile phone number and voicemail pin number on the air and told listeners to hound him “’til he goes toes up”. Bouziad claims he received over 700 death threats.
